Student Profiles

The majority of Sterling College students arrive from the northeast United States, with the greater number coming from New England. Typically, students from the Midwest, the Mid-Atlantic, California, and the Northwest attend, as well. International students are welcome. More than two thirds of Sterling's students are recent graduates of public and private high school education. The remainder are either home schooled, took a few years to travel and work before attending college, or transferred from another college. On average the Sterling College student population is about 55% men and 45% women. Roughly 80% of students live on campus, while others live in the surrounding community. 20% are from Vermont, 42% from the remaining New England states, and 38% from 16 other states across the country.
