Student Profiles
The majority of Sterling College students
arrive from the northeast United States, with the greater number
coming
from
New England. Typically, students from the Midwest, the Mid-Atlantic,
California, and the Northwest attend, as well. International
students are welcome. More than two thirds of Sterling's students
are recent graduates of public and private high school education.
The remainder are either home schooled, took a few years to
travel and work before attending college, or transferred from
another
college. On average the Sterling College student population
is about 55% men and 45% women. Roughly 80% of students live
on
campus, while others live in the surrounding community. 20%
are from Vermont, 42% from the remaining New England states, and
38%
from 16 other states across the country.
