Recommendation 1: To update and revise the Land Management Plan (including CNS property) and maps

 

Activity 1: Develop a landscaping management plan for grounds/lawns around buildings, including prohibiting the use of any toxic pesticides or herbicides on campus.

 

Activity 2: Have GIS students map the property of Sterling College including land use patterns and changes in boundaries over time

 

Activity 3: Contract with Ross Morgan to update the 1989 Forest Management Plan that he worked on.

 

Activity 4: Explore the possibility of Forest Stewardship Council green forestry certification standards in partnership with Vermont Family Forests

2.  Tim Wilson’s SARP included several land-use history GIS maps. Sent proposal to have them on the website to Dean of the College and Webmaster, Spring 2006.

 Recommendation 2: To complete a full inventory of the plants/trees on campus, noting natives & non-native species.

Recommendation 3: (SLRP—Physical Plant) To keep the College buildings and ground in a neat and orderly appearance using environmentally materials.
