Common Voice, our magazine for alumni and friends of Sterling College, is at the printer right now, and we couldn’t be more excited. This is our second theme issue and our first centered on food.

Why create a food issue? Glad you asked. Sustainable food systems means taking an ecological approach to the future of food and food production. The entire Sterling community examines the social, cultural, and ecological impacts of the way we grow and consume our food. We’ve always known the food at Sterling is special; we have a passion for food from seedling to compost. This issue lets us really dig deeper on this issue and how it connects all of us.

The issue is chock full of great articles, including a student write-up of farming and food in Chiapas, Mexico; a history of the Dunbar Dining Hall; recipes from the Sterling Kitchen; how Sterling College is #1 in the country for real food on campus; and more.

If you’ve been getting the Common Voice, you have this issue to look forward to. Not getting the Common Voice but want to? Email Micki Martin today and get on our mailing list!
