A native of Vermont, she received her B.A. in History and Environmental Studies at Sweet Briar College. After graduation she did the Sustainable Agriculture summer at Sterling College. Lucy then did Master’s International, which combined a Master’s in Public Administration at George Mason University with two years of Peace Corps service in Panama. After which she worked as a WREI/WPI Fellow and then as a Legislative Assistant in the office of Representative Betty McCollum. She transitioned back to Vermont to work as the Advocate/Organizer for Rural Vermont before finding her way back to Sterling College to work in Admission.
