Welcome Transfer Students!

Whether you took a few classes, completed a full degree, or took a few years off, we invite you to join our vibrant learning community! Sterling College is a place where nontraditional students thrive. The experiences that each student brings to Sterling are deeply valued and help weave together the evolving fabric of our place-based learning experience.

  • "When I first learned about Sterling College, the Work Program immediately stood out to me. I was drawn to the opportunity to contribute toward tuition through meaningful work. I also appreciated the small size and close-knit community, where everyone is involved and plays an important role. I felt a strong connection to the college’s values and the agricultural focus of the academic program. Since arriving, I’ve found it much easier to connect with people compared to my experience at the large university I previously attended. I really value the sense of individuality here—everyone is encouraged to be themselves. The transfer process was smooth, and I was especially thankful that all of my credits transferred over. It made the transition feel seamless.”

    Cardi Loupis, Class of 2025

  • “When I started searching for a new school, I knew I wanted something different from a research university or even a run-of-the-mill liberal arts college. Sterling's small size, environmental focus and experiential curriculum set it apart from my other options. The transfer process was straightforward and uncomplicated, and I’ve been quite happy here. Sterling is well-suited for non-traditional students like me. It has provided boundless opportunities to explore my interests—really more than I have time to take advantage of. Sterling offers a close-knit and welcoming community of like-minded people who enjoy getting their hands dirty. If you want to live what you're learning, Sterling is likely a great fit.”
